LINDA HAS GONE HOME!

Linda, our God of grace and mercy has given you a bright NEW DAY! The sweet reunion that you have just experienced is the one we all long for. Linda, we miss you...but will see you soon ....beyond the sunset....over the mountain...eternal life...GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME...

We have added the following from The Oklahoman as well as comments that we found online that were written by Sikes extended family members. We encourage you to add your own comments below:

Linda Gay Tabor Harris, 57, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend went to her heavenly home on June 1, 2008 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on February 7, 1951 in Perryton, Texas to Leon and Billie Tabor and grew up on a nearby farm. After graduating from Follett High School and attending Oklahoma Christian College, Linda married her high school sweetheart Jerald Harris on August 8, 1969 in Ft. Devens, MA. They lived in Fitchburg, MA, Peitou, Taiwan, Amarillo, TX, Lubbock, TX, Darrouzett, TX, Ashland, KS, Waterloo, IA, Mullinville, KS, and Oklahoma City, OK. After raising three children, Linda worked at the Darrouzett bank, worked for ENRON and for the past 5 years she has worked at Mercy Hospital in the Dept. of Facility Services.

Linda's sweet spirit inspired everyone she met. She will always be remembered for her precious smile and laughter that was very contagious. Her greatest joy was holding and playing with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Jerald, a daughter, Kathy (K.C.) Williams of Edmond, OK, and children, Kody and Kayla, her son Andy (Rachel) Harris of Weatherford, OK, and children, Austin, Audrey, Faith, and Brady, her son Tommy Harris of Lubbock, TX, her parents, Leon and Billie Tabor of Liberal, KS, her brother, Gary (Donna) Tabor, Lacey, WA, her sister Janie (David) Rine, Liberal, KS, and her brother Jay (Susan) Tabor, Dallas, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brooke Ehrlich.

Linda was a member of the Quail Springs Church of Christ. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the Demuth Funeral Home, 1145 W. Britton Rd., OKC, OK on Wed, 6/4/2008 at 9:30AM, with Mark Henderson officiating, and at the United Methodist Church in Follett, TX at 3:00PM on Wed. Burial will follow at the Fairmont Cemetery, Follett, TX.

God is able!
Patti and I are praying for you and the entire Harris' family.
Linda, when I close my eyes I can still see your encouraging smile. You smiled at me even in my ornery years!!
May our God give you His strength, His grace, His mercy, His courage, His power, His peace, His comfort and healing!
HE IS ABLE! 2 Cor 9:8 "God is able to make all grace abound to you..."

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones." (Ps. 116:15) My thankfulness to God for "precious" Linda, believing we will have all eternity to rejoice together in His presence. "Precious are His thoughts to me." (Ps. 139:17)

Your family has been in our daily prayers since the beginning of Linda's illness. We wish we could hug your necks at this time, but pray that you will feel our love in spirit. Linda was a blessing to all and will certainly be missed. May God hold each of you in the palm of His almighty hands. We love you!

Linda was always a loving and thoughtful encourager, and she did that for me to the end. When I read that she was "sung" into heaven I couldn't help but feel uplifted as well. I will miss my cousin but I know I'll see her again in Heaven's choir.

My very favorite thing in the whole wide world when I was growing up was when Billie & Leon would visit with Linda. I will always remember her excitement for all facets of her life. We are all so lucky to have known her! God Bless you all!

Jerald & family, Billie & Leon & family,
Our family prays for God’s strength and comfort and peace and "Blessed Assurance" be on and in you this day. We know many are praying for the same who would love to stand beside you today, hug your necks, encourage you – but are unable to make the journey.
Please know that you are loved and prayed for in Pitman, New Jersey. Our family has followed your story, the ups and downs of Linda’s last few months with prayer. Those will continue.
It was so encouraging to hear that Linda was carried to Heaven’s gates with the family in song this past Sunday. We are sure there were angels present in that room who not encouraged you but were also encouraged by your songs of love and faith! Here or there or up there – "God be with you till we meet again; by His counsels guide, uphold you, with His sheep securely fold you;God be with you till we meet again." We love you.
Psalm 73:23-28
"Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
27 Those who are far from you will perish;
you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.” (NIV)
