There's plenty of water in the mountains...the snow melts and makes powerful mountain streams...Peter found just the place for son, Cole Disterlic and our York friend, Sara Winchell, to confess Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior and be buried with Him in baptism. That's right...

Great 2008 Reunion Pictures - IT TAKES WATER FOR WADING POOL FUN ON THE BACK DECK

Kent Marcum bought some wading pool fun and set it up on the back deck of the lodge for all the little ones. (Of course, being a very involved grandpa may have had something to do with it...4 of his grandbabies were at the reunion). But, here, it's others who are having some before nap time relaxation: Reese and Adelyn Leonard in the background with Elijah and Brooke Lawless with their backs to the photographer.

Of course, little ones can't be in the pool without an audience. Here sit: Vanessa Leonard, Krista Sikes, and Dane/Shanon Tate.

All the fun on the back deck showed us quickly that there would be no going barefoot. Here, mommy Robbie Disterlic Lawless takes out 30 splinters from son Elijah's foot. Watching closely are concerned little sister Brooklyn, Aunt Nancy, and cousins Alaina & Michael (I think).

When there were no kids to watch on the back deck...anyone could go sit on the front deck and soak in the view. What a deck! What a view! It was enough to hold us spell bound...

2008 Sikes Reunion is history...

Sad News / Happy News

Leslie Sikes (Jed's wife) lost her mother, Mary Jo Brady, to cancer on July 4. Funeral/Memorial Services are to be Tuesday, July 8 at the East Point church of Christ, Wichita, Kansas at 2 p.m. Memorials for the East Point church of Christ or Kansas Humane Society can be sent to Jed and Leslie at their home address. We are so thankful that Jed and Leslie and John, Sherena, and Steven will be able to join us at the reunion after the funeral. Take care of yourselves and each other!

Leslie, we are so sad for you, yet we are so happy that your mother became a christian last year. For this we are eternally thankful. We are praying for your strength. This family reunion coming up is just a taste of what your mom is now experiencing.

Steve's to stay in New Jersey.

Today, because of Steve's challenges with his back, we cancelled his flight...he preached twice this morning and led the service tonight...that was alot for how he's feeling...pray with us that he can make the reunion by Thursday...if possible, he'll fly to Denver on Thursday morning...patti
